We're feeling a bit patriotic this week with our newly elected president in office. Let's hope he can get this country turned around soon! But that's not the real reason we're sending you this message. One of our vendors is stopping by on his way to Tucson and wants to lighten his load. So we're having a one day only semi-precious trunk show this Saturday, January 24 from 11 am to 6 pm. Come in from the cold and get cozy with all the beautiful beads!

I am so happy about the simple soldered findings class on Saturday January 24

from 2:00 to 5:00. If there is space in the class I would love to take that class.

I think that class will take me to the next level.

And the best part is that Sarah Chapman is teaching it.

WINTER STORE HOURS!!!

Well, changing our store hours for the winter has proven to be a mistake. So we have decided to stick to the original hours. Please come and visit us, even if it's cold out!

Monday thru Friday, 11 to 7, Saturday 11 to 6, Sunday, 11 to 5

Introducing: Bead Therapy Nites at Caravan!

We hope you will join us on the second and fourth Wednesday evening of every month as we kick off our new beading nite. Bring your latest project, start a new one, or just socialize with other beaders. We'll offer help with your projects and demo new techniques. What a great way to get through winter in Chicago and meet new people!

January Therapy Nites: Jan. 14 & Jan. 28: 6 to 8 pm
February Therapy Nites: Feb. 11 & Feb. 25: 6 to 8 pm

I hope you have the time to visit us to see our new class samples in the store. The colors and textures of each project are fantastic.

Our free class for handmade earring posts was full of happy people that made these easy and elegant posts. I hope you can attend to the next free workshop.

Happy New Year! Looks like I've been neglecting our blog...sorry! Hope your holidays were happy. I'm writing this as we are getting more snow. It's only the beginning of winter and I'm sick of the snow already! Winters in Chicago are no fun. But it's the perfect time to stay inside working on a beading project!

As you know, our winter store hours are now in effect. This is an experiment and I would love some feedback. January and February are normally slow months for us. And with the Paulina el stop still under construction, I thought it might save us a bit to be closed a few days a week during these months. But...if we hear that enough of you would like us to be back open Mondays and Tuesdays, we will do that. Just please let us know. We don't want to lose you because we're closed on these days!

Our January and February class schedule is now online. We have some fun new classes this session. We're introducing some beginner metalsmithing classes for those of you who want to take your jewelry making to the next level. Resin is still hot! These classes fill up fast, so sign up early to guarantee a spot in class.

Bead Therapy nights start this Wednesday, Jan. 14 from 6 to 8 pm. Bring a project or start a new one. We'll be here to offer you help and advice. It's a great way to meet new people and keep busy during these cold, snowy months.
